I hope you’re enjoying the lovely warm weather we are having this summer, I’m certainly loving being able to wear my flip flops, sunglasses and colourful summer clothes.
What a very strange situation we’re all in at the moment, a new way of adjusting to that’s for sure.
I’ve been making sure I focus on the positives, that we have actually made history and it’s definitely one to tell the grand-kids. It’s been tricky trying to juggle work, home schooling and college work, but I have really cherished the time I’ve had to spend with my family.
It’s actually become the new norm for me working from home although I do miss the face to face interaction with all you lovely people. I’ve been keeping in touch with my family and friends frequently through video chat and having a weekly quiz’s and bingo nights. I’ve downloaded all the free games on our amazon fire stick and had so much fun playing them. My children have learned so many new skills, they can now help mummy peel the veg and prepare dinner and the beautiful cakes they have been baking have been out of this world as well as spending lots of time outside as a family in our new hot tub and bar that my husband has built.
I’ve been making sure I get out for a brisk 30-minute walk at least 5 days a week to burn of the extra calories I’ve been consuming, with a music app to keep the beat up and help me feel refreshed.
I’ve been enjoying doing crafts with the kids, I think I secretly enjoy it better that the kids as I have on several occasions stayed up into the wee small hours in my element after the kids have gone to bed making picture frames and plaques for friends and family. I’ve even opened my new sewing machine that I got for Christmas and made my own face masks.
I can definitely say that this time has made me reflect on all the things that I have and what I have achieved. Until next time stay safe.
